NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

Special Religious Education at our school
At Kempsey East Public School we offer these SRE classes:
- Combined Scripture, Baptist and Presbyterian - Years 1 to 6
- Catholic Scripture - Years 1 to 6
There are no SRE options available for Kindergarten students due to the unavailability of SRE providers for this year.

Opting out of special religious education
If you do not wish for your child to attend SRE. Your child will participate in alternative meaningful activities. To withdraw your child from SRE complete and return the Special Religious Education Participation Letter (PDF 28.7KB).
