Early Explorers

Early Explorers is a transition program to Kempsey East Public School for children commencing school next year. The program is designed to make starting 'big' school as successful as possible for children, families and teachers.

Early Explorers transition program

Early Explorers aims:

  • to get to know your child as an individual
  • to enhance your child's oral language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • to provide opportunities for parents or carers to share in their child's transition to school
  • to allow your child to develop relationships with other children they will start kindergarten with
  • to complement the benefits of early childhood education programs your child may already attend.

How to enrol in Early Explorers

If your child is going to start kindergarten at our school next year and you want your child in this program, please fill out these two forms:

  • an Early Explorers Expression of Interest form and return it to our school office as soon as possible.
  • a Kempsey East Public School enrolment form, you can get this from our school office or visit Enrolment

Start dates and times

Attendance at Early Explorers is on a fortnightly basis on a Tuesday afternoon from 12.30 to 3.00.

You can choose which fortnight your child attends on.

The first sessions will be on:

  • Tuesday 7 May for group 1
  • Tuesday 14 May for group 2.

Parent information session

A parent information session for Early Explorers will be held at our school the week before the program starts. At this session you can choose which fortnightly group your child is to attend.

We look forward to meeting both you and your child in the near future.
